The views of beautiful mountain scenery follow throughout the treks from the beginning to the end of wonderful walks. Besides magnificent views of peaks on daily walks, the culture, and traditional life of hill people is equally fascinating. 

As you explore Gurung and Poon / Magar typical mountain villages, the menfolk are known as famous Gorkha soldiers. A long history of more than 200 years, with the foreign legion in UK -India as well in Singapore police.

Annapurna Ghorepani-Poon Hill Panorama Trekking begins from beautiful Pokhara with a drive to the starting point of walks. Where treks follow along the high hills trails on the old Trans Himalayan Salt Trade Route of Nepal and Tibet.

As the walk progress with views of snow peaks through lovely villages entering into an enchanting forest. Lined with tall rhododendron-magnolia-oaks-pine and fir trees. During springtime, the hills are alive with wildflowers in season bloom, of various species and colors. Decorates the green rolling hills with the backdrop of massive Annapurna Himalaya white peaks.     

The adventure then leads to the main highlight destination at Ghorepani villages located amidst the rhododendron forest. Next early morning hike up to Poo Hill for stunning sunrise views over a wide panorama of the world’s highest mountain range. Includes views from Mt. Dhaulagiri-Annapurna to Manaslu Himalaya range with an array of peaks along with magnificent looking Machhapuchare Himal.

After an exciting thrill on top of Poon Hill, the highest point of the adventure at 3,210 m high. Return journey on an alternative route with ups and down to the last village of Ghandruk. A nice large village populated by the Gurung the hill tribes of Annapurna Himalayas. Spending a pleasant time at Ghandruk, the last day's walk leads to a long descent for a short drive to Pokhara. 

Where our wonderful adventure comes to an end, and then back to Kathmandu.

Itinerary

  • 1 Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotels.On arrival at Kathmandu Nepal’s International Airport, received by guide and staff and then transfer you to your hotels in the hub of Kathmandu city.
    Check into your rooms, after getting refreshed from Jet-Lag, then join with other members of Annapurna Ghorepani-Poon Hill Panorama trekking.
    Our guide will provide briefing regarding trekking, hotels, local lodge and overland drives with do’s and don’ts. Evening welcome group dinner in authentic Nepalese restaurants with Folk cultural programs to entertain as introduction to Nepalese culture and custom.
  • 2 Day 2: In Kathmandu with sightseeing tour around world heritage sites.Having breakfast depart from the hotel for exciting sightseeing tour around
    Kathmandu. The city guide will show and explain of great interest, although a
    semi-modern city Kathmandu. But still retains its ancient glory and varied ancient
    culture and custom. Visiting UNESCO world heritage sites and then back to hotel
    afternoon free, for trek preparations.
  • 3 Day 3: Fly to Pokhara 860 m (30 mins flight), drive to Ulleri village 1,720 for overnight stop. 04 hour drive from Pokhara.Morning transfer to Kathmandu domestic airport for short scenic flight to
    beautiful Pokhara city. A place of charm blessed with natural beauty of snow
    mountains and lakes. From Pokhara airport board in a vehicle a four-wheel drive
    for exciting drive to the starting point of trek from Ulleri Mountain village.
    Drive leads past Pokhara valley outskirts facing marvelous scenery of Annapurna
    peaks and farm lands, then reaching much warmer areas of Nayapul town.
    As drive continues following Modi River to lovely Bhirethati village and beyond
    through farm villages. From Tirkhedhunga village with beautiful waterfalls, drive on winding uphill to Ulleri village for overnight stop. The village populated by Magar the hill tribes of Far West Nepal, enjoy views of Annapurna peaks.
  • 4 Day 4: Trek to Ghorepani 2,840 m - 04 hrs.From Ulleri first day walk of few hours with slow climb past Bhanthati village
    and then following cool dense forest of tall rhododendron and pine trees.

    A slow and steady walk within lovely forested path and then reach up to high
    ridge, where Ghorepani top village located at the bottom of famous Poon Hill.

    Transfer into a nice lodge facing views of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna peaks, from
    here the temperatures get much cooler.
  • 5 Day 5: Morning Hike to Poon Hill and trek to Tadapani 2,700 m - 05 hrs.Early morning before dawn an hour hike up to Poon Hill, to catch stunning sunrise
    over Himalayan panorama. Facing 360° wide views from Dhaulagiri-Nilgiris-Vara
    Shikar / Annapurna Fang, and Annapurna range of peaks with
    Mt. Machhapuchare. The view extends to Lamjung Himal and Manaslu towards
    east. After a wonderful time at Poon Hill, back to Ghorepani for breakfast and
    continue walk with climb into rhododendron forest. As uphill leads to Deurali
    with grand views of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna peaks.

    From Deurali downhill to another Bhanthati, a small settlement located in a gorge
    and then short down, with an hour climb reaching at Tadapani for overnight stop.

    At Tadapani transfer into a nice simple lodge facing views of Annapurna South-
    Huin Chuli, Machhapuchare and Annapurna-II. Tadapani located amidst dense
    lovely forest a scenic small settlement of Gurung people, the main tribes of
    Annapurna region.
  • 6 Day 6: Trek to Ghandruk village 1,951 m - 04 hrs.
Enjoy the morning views of Annapurna peaks, and then start the day walk within cool shade of rhododendron and pine forest. As downhill starts all the way to Ghandruk village for last overnight around the high hills of Annapurna Himalayas. Ghandruk, one of the largest village around southern Annapurna Himalayas, populated with Gurung hill tribe follows Buddhism religion and culture.
    At Ghandruk on checking into a nice fine lodge, having lunch with to explore around the village. Visit the village small Gurung museum, provides information of
    the Gurung people culture and custom and traditional farm life and raising livestock.
  • 7 Day 7: Trek to Kimche 1,640 m and drive to Pokhara 860 m-04 hrs. Last day walk of the short adventure, having good breakfast on downhill on nice paved cobble stone path to Kimche. A small farm villages with rows of terraces, from here our walk completes taking a vehicle for short interesting drive to Pokhara. A beautiful spot and check into a lovely hotel, located close to serene Phewa Lake side. After lunch enjoy walk around the lake side, and enjoying boat ride on the calm lake.
  • 8 Day 8: Drive or fly to Kathmandu and then transfer to your hotels.
Morning transfer to Pokhara airport for scenic short flight to Kathmandu, during air facing views of Himalayan snow peaks. Includes grand view of landscapes scenery of green hills dotted with farm fields and villages. After a short flight then landing at Kathmandu, and then transfer to your hotels with time for individual activities and shopping souvenirs.
  • 9 Day 9: Depart for international flight for homeward bound.Last day in Nepal after a wonderful experience on Annapurna Ghorepani and Poon Hill Panorama trekking. As per flight time, transfer to airport for homeward bound or to your respective destinations.

INSURANCE POLICY:

Traveling to Himalayan countries specially on treks and other adventure with Nepal-Bhutan and Tibet, where clients should purchase travel and medical insurance covering immediate evacuation by any means of transportations, like helicopter or fastest way vehicle to reach nearest city and town hospitals.

Insurance Policy should cover all medical expenses incurred during your holidays in Himalayan countries, including travel insurance where sometimes Himalayan weather even in best times can be unpredictable, where trekking routes can be re-routed of cancelled in this case local company will not entertain you with refund, however provides you with letter so that one can claim from your respective insurance companies.

Insurance policy for Medical and Travel:

Should cover medical insurance for illness and emergency evacuation by Helicopter or other means of transportations including other expenses on treatment at respective countries hospitals, as for travel insurance against bad unfavorable weather conditions, delay or cancellation of domestic flights on mountainous area where flight involves on the start of trek and at the end.

Travel and Medical Insurance also needs to cover when clients break the journey in the middle of the trip, due to sickness-personal domestic problem etc………

Guide and Porters: 

On treks or climb where you will be accompanied by our expert guide who knows the area on route of the trek chosen, we have professional and veteran guides to led the trek where you can feel comfortable, as our guide are knowledgeable offers you various information of the country from history-geography, culture to flora and fauna.

All guides have gone through basic medical training that includes high altitude symptoms or AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness) can help you with simple medical First Aid and for severe condition will support taking you to safe area or to nearest hospitals by any means of quick transportation.

Our guides are well versed in Eco-Trekking and Responsible Tourism as well and are committed in keeping the environment on trekking route in pristine form as it was.

Porters are picked can be regular porter of the company of hired in Kathmandu-Pokhara or in Lukla on start of the trekking, with always a strong and cheerful porters to carry your heavier luggage, baggage of 15 to 25 kg maximum weights to carry by each porters, we do not allow underage porters of below 16 years of age or above 50 years.

Porters and guide are well looked after by the company with good wages, medical insurance, travel allowance including meals on treks and climb company also provides warm gear in winter as well for high and cold altitude trips.

We are also member of PACT (Porters Act commitment).  

Altitude Sickness or AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness):
    Information of AMS and Precaution Measures:

High Altitude or Acute Mountain Sickness for short as AMS a symptom faced and can catch any people on high altitude adventure walks.

Due to high pressure and low oxygen level as certain height where some people feel uneasiness with shortness of breathiness, light headache, nausea, dizziness, lack of good sleep and with less appetite.

To avoid these whole symptoms where we always designed itinerary days accordingly with enough space, flexible days for acclimatization at high elevation, taking short walks up and sleeping and resting at low places.

The other good way to avoid AMS taking slow and steady pace on walks, stopping frequently to catch your breath and adding lot of fluid or safe drinking water at least 2-3 liters a day to support against AMS.

On high altitude take enough rest and with short slow hike above high hills to catch views as well to support acclimatization and sleeping and resting at low altitude will certainly helps you in avoiding AMS.

The company provides as precaution measures against AMS with comprehensive medical kit, oxygen and Gamma Bags / Pressure Bags in some high altitude adventure treks, where some people as per their own doctor advice use Diamox also known as Acetazolamide to prevent and reduce symptoms of AMS can lower headache when in high altitude walks and climb

Useful in situations when you cannot make high ascent, the best ways to prevent altitude sickness doing it slowly, stopping for overnights at certain altitude to adjust to the new height, and taking it easy for first one or two 2 days.

This Diamox also used for other medications to treat certain type of eye problem (open-angle glaucoma). 

Acetazolamide a "water pill" (diuretic), it decrease amount of fluids that can build up in eyes, also helps to decrease buildup of body fluids (edema) caused by congestive heart failure or certain medications. Acetazolamide can work less well over time, so it is usually used only for a short period of time.

Using this pill should get advice from your doctor before trip departure to high Himalaya.

In our list we always mention general medication to bring from home as well from your doctor advice also, your doctor might recommend you some basic medication list like medicine against diarrhea, headache, fever, cold-flu as well constipation including first aid for cuts-wounds and burns as well.
