Annapurna Ghorepani Hill Trekking is among the most popular trekking adventures. This journey is of moderate difficulty and thus preferred by many trekkers and visitors. Another reason behind this trekking route's popularity is its proximity to Pokhara. Pokhara is where the journey on this trekking route begins and ends. Besides this, this journey is also popular because of its duration. It is one of the shortest treks in this region. However, despite its short duration, we can still experience the grand views and breathtaking sceneries of the Annapurna Himalayas

On this journey, you can enjoy a pleasant walk through the enchanting forest with tall rhododendrons, oak, and pine trees. This contrasts with the green hills against the brightness of the snow-capped peaks. We can get a breathtaking view of the magnificent sceneries throughout our trekking before we reach the beautiful Pokhara, the city of natural wonders.

The Annapurna Ghorepani Hill Trekking starts as we head towards the foothills of the Annapurna Himalayas before climbing to the lovely villages.

After traveling, we finally reached the highlight of the trek, Ghorepani. It is a nice village located amidst a forest of rhododendron trees. During the spring, our trek through this area can be magical as the wildflowers bloom, especially the rhododendron.

Ghorepani is regarded as the largest rhododendron garden. In this garden, we can witness the various species of rhododendron flowers, ranging from bushes to trees.

Ghorepani is located at the base of the popular Poon Hill. We can visit the top of Poon Hill by taking an early morning hike. Here, we can enjoy the stunning views of the Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Manaslu as the golden glow of the Sunrise makes the peaks shine. We stand at the highest point of the adventure, encircled by the magnificent views of the Himalayas. After glorious mountains between the pristine surroundings, we walk back through the alternative scenic route to Pokhara.

Our journey back leads us uphill through the lovely woods and then downhill to the last mountain village of Ghandruk. Our trek completes with an exciting drive back to Pokhara before heading to Kathmandu after an unforgettable experience on Annapurna Ghorepani Poon Hill Trekking.

Itinerary

After you arrive at Kathmandu's International Airport, you will be received by our guide and then transferred to your hotel in the hub of Kathmandu city.

Then, you get checked into your rooms for some refreshment. Then, we joined the other members of Annapurna Ghorepani-Poon Hill Panorama trekking.

Our guide then provides a briefing about the trekking, hotels, local lodges, and drives, along with the do's and don'ts. We then enjoy the evening with a welcome dinner in authentic Nepalese restaurants with Folk cultural programs as an introduction to Nepalese culture and customs.

Our morning starts with breakfast before departing from the hotel for an exciting sightseeing tour around Kathmandu. The city guide shows us around the city and provides information about tourist spots. Although the city is urban, it retains its ancient glory and varied ancient culture and customs. Furthermore, we can also visit UNESCO World Heritage sites and then go back to the hotel for an afternoon free for trekking preparations.

We traveled to Kathmandu domestic airport in the morning for a short scenic flight to the beautiful Pokhara city. This city of charm is blessed with the natural beauty of snow-capped mountains and lakes. From the Pokhara airport, we take a four-wheel drive for an exciting drive to the starting point of the trek, Ulleri mountain village.

Our drive leads past the outskirts, facing the marvelous sceneries of Annapurna Peaks and farmlands before reaching the warmer areas of Nayapul Town. Then, our drive continued following the Modi River to the calm village of Bhurethati through the simple farm villages of Tirkhedhunga. From here, we drive on a winding path uphill past the beautiful waterfalls to Ulleri village for an overnight stop. This village is populated by Magar, the hill tribes of Far West Nepal, as we enjoy views of Annapurna Peaks.

From Ulleri, our first day of walking starts with a few hours of slow climb past Bhanthati village. Then, we follow a cool, dense forest of tall rhododendrons and pine trees.

It is a slow and steady walk within a lovely forested path before reaching a high ridge. It is where Ghorepani's top village is located at the bottom of famous Poon Hill.

Once we reach our destination, we head to a nice lodge facing the magnificent views of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna peaks. From this point, the temperature gets cooler. Here, we stop for an overnight stop.

Our journey begins with an early morning hike to Poon Hill before dawn. From here, we can take a beautiful sunrise over the Himalayan Panorama. From here, we can witness the 360-degree panoramic views of Dhaulagiri-Nilgiris-Vara Shikar / Annapurna Fang. Along with this, we can also witness the Annapurna range and Mount Machhapuchhre. We can now view Lamjung Himal and Manaslu towards the east. After a wonderful time at Poon Hill, we head back to Ghorepani for breakfast and continue our walk into the rhododendron forest. Then, we head uphill to Deurali, facing the grand views of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna peaks.

From Dhaulagiri, we head to Bhanthati, a small settlement located in a gorge. We then head down with an hour-long climb towards Tadapani for an overnight stop.

In this location, we head to a nice lodge facing the stunning views of Annapurna South-Huin Chuli, Machhapuchhre, and Annapurna-II. This lovely Gurung settlement is located amidst the lovely forest.

At the starting point of our journey, we can enjoy the morning views of the stunning Annapurna peaks. Then, we start our journey by walking under the cool shade of rhododendrons and pine forests. Our journey starts downhill to Ghandruk Village for a last overnight trip around the high hills of the Annapurna Himalayas. Ghandruk is one of the largest villages in the southern Annapurna Himalayas, and it is populated by the Gurung tribe, a tribe that follows Buddhism.

At Ghandruk, we checked into a nice lodge and had lunch before exploring the village. We visited the Gurung museum, the tradition of Gurung culture, the farm life, and raising livestock.

On our last day of walking, we took a short adventure. We first have a good breakfast and then head downhill on a paved cobblestone path to Kimche. It is a small village with rows of terrace farms. At this point, our walk concludes, and we drive to Pokhara. We checked into a lovely hotel beside the serene Phewa Lakeside. After a hearty lunch, we enjoy a calming walk around the lakeside and enjoy a boat ride.

In the morning, we transfer to Pokhara airport as we take a scenic flight to Kathmandu. During our time in the air, we can witness the beautiful views of the landscapes of green hills dotted with farms and villages. After a short flight, we landed in Kathmandu. Once we reach here, we transfer to our hotels where we can get adequate time to spend at our leisure and shop for souvenirs.

The next day, we drive you back to the airport as you take a flight to your home filled with unforgettable memories of the journey.

That said, if you want, you can journey to one of the many treks and trips we provide here at Explorer Adventure.

They are extremely knowledgeable regarding the destination and can provide us with a wide range of information. This information includes everything from history, topography, culture, traditions, customs, flora and fauna.

All our guides have gone through basic medical training. This includes training for high-altitude sickness. Therefore, they can help us with simple medical and first-aid training. Furthermore, during emergencies, they can also help us contact the emergency vehicle.

Additionally, our guides are also well-versed in eco-trekking. Therefore, they will do their best to keep the trekking environment clean and pristine.

We pick our porters from regular companies, and they are hired between Kathmandu and Pokhara or in Lukla. They are strong, cheerful and helpful. Each porter can carry a maximum weight of 15 to 20 Kg. Furthermore, we do not hire porters under 16 years and above 50 years.

Information on AMS and Precaution Measures:

High altitude sickness or acute mountain sickness (AMS) is a set of symptoms that one can face during steep ascents. Low oxygen levels cause this. Some of the symptoms include the following:

                    • Short breaths
                    • Light headache
                    • Nausea
                    • Dizziness
                    • Lack of sleep
                    • Less appetite

To avoid these symptoms, we designed an itinerary with days of adequate rest in between. We should also drink adequate fluids to reduce the symptoms of AMS.

At high altitudes, taking enough rest and going for short, slow hikes on higher terrain is essential. This helps us acclimatize and enjoy the beautiful views. Also, sleeping and resting at lower altitudes can prevent Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS).

When going to very high places, it's best to go slowly. Stop and spend nights at certain altitudes to get used to the height, and take it easy during the first one or two days.

We should also bring general medications. This includes the following medicines.

                    • Diarrhea
                    • Headache
                    • Fever
                    • Cold-flu
                    • Constipation
                    • First aid for cuts, wounds, and burns
