Explorer Adventure presents Langtang Himal Panorama Trekking, a moderate scenic adventure that leads you to high areas within the beautiful Langtang Himal range at picturesque Kyanjin Gompa above 3,749 m high facing amphitheater of giant peaks of Langtang and Jugal Himal.

Langtang Himal Panorama trekking is a perfect holiday for all types of people and age groups where walk leads to a pleasant and scenic trail with few ups and down, where you get acclimatized during daily hikes with overnights in the local lodge in the harmony of Tamang people's hospitality.

On this beautiful Langtang Himal Panorama where you will enter into enchanting deep woodland of mixed vegetations with tall rhododendron-magnolia and pines trees with some bamboo groves which makes an excellent home for rare and elusive Red Panda, where trekkers can seldom spot this fine raccoon types of animals on the walk to Langtang valley.

Starting with an interesting drive from Kathmandu heading due north to reach the cooler alpine region at Rasuwa district populated by ancient tribe Tamang with Buddhist religion and culture similar to Tibetan which is a mere distance to the border of Tibet on the other side of Langtang Himal range.
Walk advance after the drive heading past nice cultural villages with farm fields and terraces and entering into a river gorge covered within the forest as trek progress reaching much higher and then reaching at Kyanjin Gompa within beautiful Langtang valley enclosed with high mountains.
With ample time to enjoy the views and observe local customs and traditional life of the villagers and then heading back to the road head on the same scenic trail to Syabrubesi village for the drive to Kathmandu with a grand marvelous time on Langtang Himal Panorama Trekking.

Itinerary

On reaching Kathmandu Tribhuwan International Airport where you will be warmly received by our guide and staff and then transfer you to your respective hotels in the hub of Kathmandu city. First check into your hotel rooms on getting refreshed from the flight and with Jet-Lag, then join with other members of Langtang Himal Panorama trekking for group briefing, where our expert guides will inform regarding your stay in Nepal, hotels, trekking, local lodge and overland drives with do’s and don’ts information, evening welcome group dinner in authentic Nepalese restaurants with Folk cultural programs to entertain you during your meals.

    Morning after breakfast leave the hotel for exciting guided sightseeing around Kathmandu where our city guide will lead you to places of interest, Kathmandu a metropolitan city still retains its ancient heritage and varied ancient culture where you will visit world heritage sites around Kathmandu for half day or full day. After an interesting and wonderful tour of ancient historical and religious sites around Kathmandu, with afternoon free preparation for next day early morning drive to Langtang Himal region north of Kathmandu.

      Morning an exciting drive on Kathmandu to Dhunche-Syabrubesi highway, heading towards Himalayan foothills, on reaching at Trisuli Bazaar within warm sub-tropical area, as our journey continues towards uphill on long winding road towards cooler alpine area past farm villages and town to reach at Dhunche, at 1,950m high. Dhunche headquarter and main town of Rasuwa district within Langtang Himal where Langtang National Park starts and ends. From Dhunche drive leads downhill on zig-zag road to reach at Syabrubesi village the home of Tamang tribe people in the shadow of Ganesh and Langtang Himal, overnight in a nice cozy lodge at Syabrubesi.

        Beginning our first day walk from Syabrubesi leading to a climb for a while but the rest of the walk is on gradual winding uphill trail past terraced farm fields and villages, as the trail descends and joins to reach near Riverside and place called Bamboo. From here our route leads into cool forested area within river gorge following glacial Trisuli River upstream, as the path climb into cool shade of rhododendron and oaks forest and then after a pleasant walk of near six hours reaching a small clearing at Lama-Hotel for overnight stop in a small nice local lodge.

          Our second day of trek follows a trail into deep woodland for few hours as morning walks leads to a small place called Ghoretabela for lunch stop amidst lovely forest surrounding with pines, hemlocks and rhododendron trees from here onward you can where you can feel touch of altitude gain. After a pleasant break here, trek continues on the trail to Langtang and its beautiful valley, walking for hours into cool shade of woodland, on crossing a stream leaving the tree line behind as our walk leads to a climb for an hour, then walk gets better on gradual trail with few ups and down to reach at Langtang village for overnight stop. One of the large villages within Langtang areas (was completely destroyed by avalanche and landslides from the effect of big earthquake of April 25th and May 15th 2015), the village slowly coming back to normal shape with happy life as it was for hundreds of years.

            From Langtang village a short day walk as morning starts with uphill climb for few hours following “mani-prayer wall” where walking clockwise direction a positive way respect to local Tamang culture and Buddhist religion, as walk leads further north east where gorge opens into a scenic wide valley facing views of high snow capped peaks. After few hours of gentle walk with super views reaching at Kyanjin Gompa, on the highlight spot of the adventure at this charming and scenic spot offers grand views of Langtang Lirung at 7,000m and its icefall surrounded by a rocky ridge formed by glacial moraine of rocks and boulders.

              At leisure and a rest day with time to explore a small Cheese factory or walk up to Tsego-Ri or Kyngin Ri at above 4,700 m / 15,420ft adding more heights of the adventure offers stunning panorama of snow capped mountains

                After a wonderful time at Kyanjin with excellent views, retrace the journey back on same route to Lama-Hotel a small settlement in the midst of the forest by the bank of upper Trisuli River.

                  Our last day trek of this fabulous Langtang Himal Panorama trekking lead you back to Syabrubesi as morning walk follows on the same trail with much downhill past spread-out farm villages and terrace fields and eventually reaching at Bhote Kosi River, which later joins Trisuli River, after crossing a suspension bridge a pleasant walk brings you at Syabrubesi for last and final overnights around Langtang Himal area and Rasuwa district.

                    Morning transfer for an exciting drive back to Kathmandu where drive leads to Dhunche town and then on downhill to reach lower warmer areas around Nuwakot at Trisuli Bazaar, and then few hour drive brings you at Kathmandu on good time with rest of the afternoon at leisure for individual activities.

                      Your last memorable day in Nepal after a wonderful experience on Langtang Himal Panorama trekking with great service of Explorer Adventure, and as per your international flight then transfer to Kathmandu international airport for homeward bound or to your respective destinations.

                         Insurance policy for Medical and Travel:

                        Should cover medical insurance for illness and emergency evacuation by Helicopter or other means of transportations including other expenses on treatment at respective countries hospitals, as for travel insurance against bad unfavorable weather conditions, delay or cancellation of domestic flights on mountainous area where flight involves on the start of trek and at the end.

                        Travel and Medical Insurance also needs to cover when clients break the journey in the middle of the trip, due to sickness-personal domestic problem etc………

                         Guide and Porters: 

                        On treks or climb where you will be accompanied by our expert guide who knows the area on route of the trek chosen, we have professional and veteran guides to led the trek where you can feel comfortable, as our guide are knowledgeable offers you various information of the country from history-geography, culture to flora and fauna.

                        All guides have gone through basic medical training that includes high altitude symptoms or AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness) can help you with simple medical First Aid and for severe condition will support taking you to safe area or to nearest hospitals by any means of quick transportation.

                        Our guides are well versed in Eco-Trekking and Responsible Tourism as well and are committed in keeping the environment on trekking route in pristine form as it was.

                        Porters are picked can be regular porter of the company of hired in Kathmandu-Pokhara or in Lukla on start of the trekking, with always a strong and cheerful porters to carry your heavier luggage, baggage of 15 to 25 kg maximum weights to carry by each porters, we do not allow underage porters of below 16 years of age or above 50 years.

                        Porters and guide are well looked after by the company with good wages, medical insurance, travel allowance including meals on treks and climb company also provides warm gear in winter as well for high and cold altitude trips.

                          Altitude Sickness or AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness):
                          Information of AMS and Precaution Measures:

                        High Altitude or Acute Mountain Sickness for short as AMS a symptom faced and can catch any people on high altitude adventure walks.

                        Due to high pressure and low oxygen level as certain height where some people feel uneasiness with shortness of breathiness, light headache, nausea, dizziness, lack of good sleep and with less appetite.

                        To avoid these whole symptoms where we always designed itinerary days accordingly with enough space, flexible days for acclimatization at high elevation, taking short walks up and sleeping and resting at low places.

                        The other good way to avoid AMS taking slow and steady pace on walks, stopping frequently to catch your breath and adding lot of fluid or safe drinking water at least 2-3 liters a day to support against AMS.

                        On high altitude take enough rest and with short slow hike above high hills to catch views as well to support acclimatization and sleeping and resting at low altitude will certainly helps you in avoiding AMS.

                        Useful in situations when you cannot make high ascent, the best ways to prevent altitude sickness doing it slowly, stopping for overnights at certain altitude to adjust to the new height, and taking it easy for first one or two 2 days.

                        In our list we always mention general medication to bring from home as well from your doctor advice also, your doctor might recommend you some basic medication list like medicine against diarrhea, headache, fever, cold-flu as well constipation including first aid for cuts-wounds and burns as well.

                         Clothing and footwear

                        • trekking boots (should be warm, waterproof, breathable, cover and fix the ankle)
                        •  sports sandals with a closed toe or sneakers.
                        •  flip flops , Sun cap , Wool or fleece hat , 2 pairs of gloves/mittens (1 thin, 1 thick,}
                        • Bandana or neckerchief ,  Fleece jackets (1 thin, 1 thick) .
                        • Thermal underwear (merino wool!), preferably 2 sets (one for walking, the other for sleeping), buy at home.
                        • Trekking socks - several pairs (there is a limited possibility of washing)
                        •  Quick-drying sports T-shirts (e.g. Polartec PowerDry) - 2 pcs. or more.
                        •  Down jacket , Windstopper , Windproof warm jacket with hood.
                        • Trekking trousers ,  Warm synthetic pants like ski pants , Rain poncho.
                        • Sun Screen Cream , Sunglasses ,  Trekking pole , Water bottle.

                          Equipment

                         *Duffel bags for trek will be perovided on Day 2 should be returned after the trek is over.

                         *Backpack 20-30 liters with rain cover (optionally with drinking system)

                        *Sleeping bag (comfort temperature around -5 C). On the upper lodges they usually provide woolen blankets. You can rent a sleeping bag in       Kathmandu, $1-2 per day.

                        *A good quality headlight with new batteries and a spare set of batteries.

                         *Sunglasses (category 3-4) + hard case , Trekking poles , Thermos 0.5-1 liter.

                        *Sealed packaging for documents and money , Sitting mat (optionally), Power bank.

                        * A roll of dense garbage bags 50 liters. You will pack your items in it when you put them in a duffel bag to protect them from moisture and dust.

                        Langtang Himal Panorama Trekking FAQs

                        • For all treks in Nepal as well for Langtang Himal Panorama, trekkers has to be physically fit with sound health. We suggest that all trekkers joining for the adventure in Himalaya should obtain medical / travel insurance for necessary accidents and unfortunate events should cover transportation including Helicopter Service for emergency evacuation.

                        • For normal moderate to adventurous grade trekking, a simple exercise of jogging-aerobic-zumba and walking up and down staircase.
                          As Nepal a country of much Ups and Downhill trails with gradual path to enjoy.

                          The exercise should be practiced minimum of 2 weeks or month on booking the trips with us and we need your medical reports from your doctor as well.

                        • Besides, the main villages and settlement on trekking areas offers good facilities of lodges. In the early days it was known as Tea-House for overnights with good meals provides with hearty breakfast, lunch and dinner from Nepalese Dal-Bhat (boiled rice, lentil soups with mild veg curry and pickles), serves continental, Chinese and Indian meals also.

                          Rooms are nice and warm in most places, as walk reaches higher altitude above 3,000 m the accommodation can be limited sometimes in high season, where single rooms will be hard to get, all rooms are neat and clean with attached or common bathrooms with hot / cold showers.

                          Large cozy dining rooms with soft music in a healthy environment and local warm hospitality rooming facing views of mountains and beautiful scenery of landscapes decorated with local traditional ways.

                        • The water provided for drinking is safe boiled and filtered water in lodges. Meals are prepared hygienically with nutritious foods served, as for drinking water is well boiled and filtered and cooled to consume.
                          Our guide also makes sure that is perfectly boiled, on treks we try to avoid plastic mineral waters due to waste and un eco-friendly, people can buy bottled water only is special and desperate situations.

                        • Nearly all International airlines fly to Kathmandu / Nepal like Thai –Singapore Airlines (Silk Airways, Dragon Air (Cathay Pacific Airlines) Malaysia Airlines, Air India with Quarter-Etihad-Gulf-Air Arabia and Turkish Airlines, including China Air, China South East Airlines.

                          Most of the airlines coming from Asian and Australia / NZ countries have direct connection to Kathmandu, where's coming from USA and from Europe needs transit on route to Kathmandu via Delhi-Gulf country- Bangkok-Singapore-Malaysia or Hong Kong.
