On this day, you will make a touchdown at the capital of this beautiful country nestled in the Himalayas. After your landing, the staff of Explorer Adventure will be at the airport to greet and receive you. Our staff will then transfer you to your respective hotel located in the heart of Kathmandu. Depending on the flight schedules, if you have enough daylight hours, you can visit our office and do some short sightseeing around the city.

Explorer Adventure will also host a welcome dinner with the folk cultural program to celebrate your arrival and the start of this remarkable journey. During this dinner, you will have time to meet with the other trekking members, guides and porters as well.

    Kathmandu Elevation: 1,400 meters/ 4,593 feet

    Before joining the trails on the mountainside, you will use this day to do some sightseeing around this vibrant capital. This capital valley carries a great history and is world-renowned for its arts, architecture, culture, and religious significance. Thus, it would be a waste not to take the opportunity to explore this beautiful valley.

    On this day, you will explore a few of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu (there are a total of 7 UNESCO Sites in this capital valley).       Syange Elevation: 1,140 meters/ 3,740 feet

      Besisahar Elevation: 820 meters/ 2.690 feet

      Elevation Loss: 260 meters/ 853 feet

      Your journey begins early this morning as you have to cover a significant drive distance. Don’t worry; lunch breaks and other short refreshment breaks are in this day’s drive. Enjoying the views of charming landscapes and fast-flowing rivers of Trishuli and Marsyangdhi, you will head toward Naubise. The journey further ahead will take you to Besisahar across Bhulbhule; the total distance from Kathmandu to Besisahar is approximately about 176 km.

      After taking a break at Besisahar, you will then drive on the narrow and bumpy road following the trails alongside the Marsyangdhi River to reach Syange Village. From this charming village, you will be able to catch the first stunning views of Annapurna II, Lamjung Himal, and Manaslu.

        Dharapani Elevation: 1,943 meters/ 6,374 feet

        Elevation Gain: 803 meters/ 2,634 feet

        After enjoying your breakfast at Syange, you will follow the gradually winding trail to reach Jagat Village. You will continue trekking further ahead on the east bank of the Marsyangdhi River and trek across the terraced farms to reach Chamje Village. From Chamje, you will continue trekking on the glittering banks of Marsyangdhi to reach the Tal Village.

        In this trekking section, there are several waterfalls, and you will move along the sandy beaches for a while, which switches to lush terraced farmlands to Kodo Village. This is one of the biggest villages in Manag Valley, and you will leave the village behind by crossing a suspension bridge which will then finally take you to Dharapani Village.

          Chame Elevation: 2,720 meters/ 8,923 feet

          Elevation Gain: 777 meters/ 2,549 feet

          In today’s trek, you will follow the path through the lush forest of fir, pine, and oak trees during the first part. After reaching Bagarchhao Village, you will then continue following the winding trail to reach the apple orchard and farmlands of Dhanaqi Village. You will be able to enjoy the stunning views of Annapurna II and Lamjung Himal from this village.

          Then, you will continue trekking alongside the Marsyangdhi River and cross the beautiful settlements of Ratamanag Village and Koto Village. Chame Village, your resting destination is at a short trekking distance from here. There is also a hot spring at the riverside in Chame, where you can take a dip to wash away your fatigue.

            Pisang Elevation: 3,190 meters/ 10,465 feet

            Elevation Gain: 470 meters/ 1,541 feet

            After enjoying a hot breakfast at Chame, you will continue trekking across the gorgeous rhododendron and pine woodland at the bank of the Marsyangdhi River. You will then cross a suspension bridge over the river and make you ascend the winding trail that offers incredible views of elevated ridges like Pangdi Danda and Swargadwari Danda. Moving ahead in your thrilling trekking route, you will cross the beautiful villages of Talekhu Village and Bhratang Village to reach Dhikur Pokhari.

            From Dhikur Pokhari, the views of Annapurna II, Chulu Peak, Tilichi Peak, Pisang Peak, and other surrounding peaks are simply magical. During the final part of this day’s exploration, you will cross the river again on a suspension bridge to reach Pisang Village. The inhabitants of this high-altitude settlement are of Tibetan descendants, and you will find culture, traditions, and religious landmarks that represent the Tibetan Buddhist culture.

              Manang Elevation: 3,540 meters/ 11,614 feet

              Elevation Gain: 350 meters/ 1,148 feet

              Today, you will head toward one of the most popular tourist and acclimatization destinations in the Annapurna region. Following the inkling route, you will pass the beautiful Ghyaru Village and Ngawal Village that open vistas to the rewarding views of Annapurna II, Annapurna IV, Annapurna III, Gandarbha Chuli, Gangapurna, Khangsar and other adjacent mountains.

              You will then continue ascending toward the Braga Village, which was built by the Tibetan settlers and has one of the oldest monasteries in Nepal. Finally, you will move along easy and even trails from Braga to reach your resting destination, Manang, which will take about 40 minutes.

                Manang Elevation: 3,540 meters/ 11,614 feet

                You have reached a significant altitude in your Himalayan journey, thus, you will take a rest day here at this popular acclimatization destination before heading further. For an effective acclimatization procedure, you do some short hikes around Manang. Gangapurna Lake/ Ice Lake is one of the most popular hiking destinations here that offers breathtaking views of Annapurna III, Chulu Peak, Gangapurna, Khangsar Kang and others.

                  Khangsar Elevation: 3,734 meters/ 12,250 feet

                  Elevation Gain: 194 meters/ 636 feet

                  After enjoying an acclimatization day at Manang, you will then continue trekking on the upper path and stay on it as it stretches down to Manang River. You will then cross the river via a suspension bridge and follow the path through the coniferous forest to reach the Tibetan village of Khangsar. This day’s trek is short and relatively easy, but the views from the trekking section are simply outstanding: Annapurna II, Gangapurna, Gungang Himal, and Chulu Himal will loom over the trekking trail.

                    Tilicho Lake Base Camp Elevation: 4,140 meters/ 13,582 feet

                    Elevation Gain: 406 meters/ 1,332 feet

                    It is finally time to head toward one of the major objectives of this Himalayan journey. After enjoying your breakfast at Khangsar Village, you will follow the trekking trail past a monastery that leads to Shiri Kharka. Enjoying the iconic Himalayan vistas, you will continue trekking forward and you will walk on the narrow path across the landslide-prone sections.

                    This day’s trekking trail isn’t long or physically demanding; however, as you traverse across a narrow path, you will need to be careful about your footing. After around 4 to 5 hours of trek, you will finally reach the Tilicho Lake Base Camp, your overnight destination for today.

                      Tilicho Lake Elevation: 4,919 meters/ 16,138 feet

                      Elevation Gain: 779 meters/ 2,555 feet

                      You will use this day to enjoy rest and the magical ambiance of the highest lake of Nepal. It will take about two to three hours to reach Tilcho Lake, and you will reach the highest Himalayan lake in the country early in the morning to avoid the afternoon wind. The dark emerald water surface of the deep lake, which is surrounded by the exception Himalayan peak, is pure bliss and one of the most memorable parts of this journey.

                      From Tilicho Lake, the views of Tilicho Himal, Nilgiri, Annapurna Massifs, and other surrounding peaks are spectacular. After relishing the magical atmosphere to your heart’s content, you will then descend back to Tilicho Lake Base Camp.

                        Khangsar Elevation: 3,734 meters/ 12,250 feet

You will then head back to the Shiri Kharka before taking the descending trail to Khangsar Village.                           Yak Kharka Elevation: 4,210 meters/ 13,812 feet

                          Elevation Gain: 476 meters/ 1,561 feet

                          On this day’s trekking trail, you will continue with the winding trail across the Tare Gompa, which is more than a thousand years old. You will then continue with the path toward the Thorang Khola Valley after parting ways with the Khangsar hamlet. In the exciting trail further ahead, you will cross a season bridge to reach the Tibetan plateau and the trail further ahead stretches all the way to Yak Kharka. If you are lucky, you will also get a chance to witness the endangered Himalayan wildlife like snow leopards and blue sheep, which are pretty common in these areas.

                            Thorang Phedi Elevation: 4,450 meters/ 14,599 feet

                            Elevation Gain: 240 meters/ 787 feet

                            After enjoying a hot breakfast at Yak Kharka, you will continue trekking on the uphill trail to reach the Ledar Village, the last village in this circuit route. From Ledar, you will trek alongside the windy ridge that opens wide vistas of Annapurna, Gangapurna, Tobuche, and Chuli massifs. After crossing the ridge, the trail then drops down to Marsyangdhi River, and you will cross a wooden bridge over the river.

                            Sticking to the right bank of the river, you will continue following the winding trail and during the last part, it will drop to Thorang Phedi. You can either stay at the teahouse and call it a day or trek to the High Camp for an overnight stay.

                              Thorang La Pass Elevation: 5,416 meters/ 17,769 feet

                              Muktinath Elevation: 3,800 meters/ 12,467 feet

                              Elevation Gain: 966 meters/ 3,169 feet

                              It's an exciting part of this Himalayan trek today as you will cross one of the most exhilarating high Himalayan passes in this circuit route. You will continue your trek from the Thorang Phedi to reach the top of the pass. Although the journey can be physically demanding, the magical views from the top will make the efforts worth it. From the top of Thorang La Pass, you can catch the magnificent vistas of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Bhirkuti, Damodar, Nilgiri, Thorang, and other adjacent peaks.

                              After spending some time at the top of the pass, you will then make your descent toward Muktinath, one of the significant Buddhist and Hindu pilgrimage sites. There are 108 stone taps and two little ponds in Muktinath; while you are here, you can also check out the eternal flame, which has been burning for more than 2,000 years.

                                Jomsom Elevation: 2,715 meters/ 8,907 feet

                                Elevation Loss: 1,085 meters/ 3,559 feet

                                As you have completed one part of the circuit trail, you will now commence the descending part. After visiting Muktinath Temple in the morning for blessings, you will then drive down in a comfortable vehicle to Jomsom.
