Tilicho Lake although situated in remote corners of the Manang district, the walk follows the main popular trail of Annapurna Circuit. Then heading beyond the Manang Valley and villages towards sheer mountain wilderness to Tilicho Lake.

Listed as the world’s highest glacial Lake at a height of above 4,919 m or 16, 139 feet high. The lake stretches to 4 km / 2.5 miles and 1.2 km wide, about 200 m / 656 feet deep. A beautiful and scenic wild country within windswept terrains close to giant Gangapurna Himal and Tilicho Peak.

An exciting and picturesque highland, located south of Manang main valley en route to Jomsom town. Where trekkers have to cross a high pass of Mesokanto-La Pass towards the southwest of Tilicho Lake. Few groups of adventurers and trekkers seldom venture around this wild country bounded by towering snow-capped mountains.

Includes grand vista of Dhaulagiri and Damodar Himal with a group of Chulu peaks and as far as Manaslu Himal.

From the highest spot of the adventure, a long descent reaches you at beautiful areas of Mustang district at Muktinath.     After an interesting and wonderful tour of ancient historical and religious sites around Kathmandu, with afternoon free preparation for next day journey to Nepal Mid West on Annapurna Tilicho Lake Trekking.

      Morning taking an exciting drive with scenic views of Himalayan peaks, as ride leads on Nepal’s busy highway past many towns and farm villages then reaching at Nepal Mid West warmer areas at Lamjung district, and the continue drive past Besisar (headquarter town of Lamjung district) following Marysangdi River to reach at Syange village for overnight stop with views of wonderful waterfalls nearby.

        From Syange walk begins with climb on leaving Marysangdi River behind reaching at Jagat village, a farm village with many lodges for trekkers, after Jagat walk leads on winding path to Chamje, and back at Marysangdi River crossing to east side into forested area, with super views of Annapurna and Manaslu mountain ranges.

        As walk continues reaching a nice village at Tal Besi, from here few hours walk leads to our overnight stop at Dharapani village, located on the midway of Annapurna circuit and Manaslu trekking trail.

          After Dharapani walk leads into rhododendron and pine forest passing villages of Bagachap and Danque, then at Timang village with more Buddhist cultured village including views of Mt. Manaslu 8,163m / 26,781ft. From Timang village few hours trek leads to Koto and then to Chame town for overnight stop, Chame a large major town of Manang area and a head quarter town of the district.

            From Pisang onwards walk leads close to mountains through alpine forests of rhododendron and pine trees, following Marshyangdi River upstream with short ups and down hills to Bhratang village. From Bhratang village walk follows uphill through alpine woodland to Dhukure Pokhari a small place with few teahouses and lodge overlooking Chulu’s and Pisang peak, with possible lunch stop, and then descends to lower Pisang village for overnight stop.

              Morning views of mountains, from here onward altitude gains as the walk leads through forest with short uphill and views of Annapurna II and III, Gangapurna Chulu’s and Pisang peak.

              Walk downhill to reach flat valley at Hongde village, from here onward tree lines fades for barren, arid landscapes with cold, dry arctic climate. Before Manang, visit old Braga monastery with old Buddhist relics, ancient wall painting and frescos and stunning views of Annapurna Himalaya, from here an hour walk reaches at Manang village.

                A necessary rest day at Manang for acclimatization before reaching higher areas to Thorang-la pass, in Manang short hike around Manang village, this is a large village situated on windswept valley by the bank of Marysangdi River below Annapurna and Gangapurna mountain range, a nice walk uphill for views of Gangapurna Glacier and Manang glacial Lake.

                  After Manang village morning walk leads to another highlight of this trip, as our route diverts from main Annapurna circuit trail reaching one of the last village of Manang at Khangsar for overnight stop which lies on route to Tiliocho Lake.

                    From here onwards around dry and arid country, morning walk on downhill for some time, then uphill to reach Tilicho Lake for overnight stop. Tilicho Lake a holy spot for both Hindu's and Buddhist religions, offering wonderful views of snowcapped peaks in the comfort of nice lodge by the bank of beautiful Tilicho Lake.

                      Free day to enjoy the beautiful setting at Tilicho Lake its emerald colored looking lake considered as one of the highest and holy lake around Himalaya, and probably in the world fed from the massive glaciers of Gangapurna and Tilicho peaks.

                      An amazing place to be on rest day where one can explore around the areas on the least frequented trails with glorious views of high peaks that encircles Tilicho Lake, after a pleasant time head back to Tilicho Base Camp for overnight and then back towards Thorang-La pass.

                        After a wonderful and pleasant stop at Tilicho with stunning views our return trek leads back towards the main Annapurna Circuit Trekking trail with overnight stop at Khangsar.

                          After a good rest and overnight at Khangsar walk towards Ghunsang village with short uphill to reach at Yak Kharka, an interesting walk with views of snowcapped mountains, on crossing a small stream reaching Yak Kharka for overnight stop, a small settlement with views of Gangapurna, Annapurna III and Chulu Peaks.

                            Morning walk lead to more high elevation getting closer at the base of Thorang-la after crossing a bridge with a climb along the river bank of Jarjung, finally walk leads at Thorang Phedi, here depending upon the physical conditions of the clients, if all goes well an hour steep climb to Thorang High Camp for overnight stop.

                              One of the highlight and Big Day of this adventure! After early breakfast walk leads to a long climb to Thorang-la on steep winding path to reach Thorang La Pass at 5,416 m / 17,700 ft. The highest point of the adventure with views of snowcapped peaks, and then with long descends to reach at holy Muktinath around Lower Mustang area.

                              On reaching Muktinath for overnight stop, this is a holy spot for both Hindus and Buddhists the word Muktinath literally means ‘the place for Nirvana or Liberation’.

                                From this peaceful religious and holy site of Muktinath with views of Dhaulagiri range, at Muktinath our trekking completes taking a ride to reach lower areas of Mustang, since the motor-able came walking is disturbed by movement of vehicles, so taking a drive instead of walking.

                                Drive leads towards wide Kaligandaki River within its windswept landscapes to reach at Jomsom the headquarter town of Mustang area, an interesting town inhabited by Thakali people of Buddhism religion, as these tribe on long history of trade with Tibet as this town situated on main old Trans Himalayan salt and caravan trade of Nepal and Tibet. With time here to enjoy walks around and observe the local people fascinating culture and traditions.

                                  Our last day of the adventure early morning walk to Jomsom small airport for super scenic short flight to land at picturesque Pokhara and then transfer to respective hotels by the Phewa lake side.

                                    Morning transfer either car-coach or tourist bus (as per the size of the group), for drive back to Kathmandu with scenic views of mountains, green scenery of hills and farm fields within nice villages and towns as drive brings you back at hustle and bustle city life of Kathmandu.

                                    On reaching Kathmandu transfer to your respective hotels with time for individual activities and shopping souvenirs.

                                      Your last memorable day in Nepal after a wonderful adventure and experience on Annapurna Tilicho Lake trekking with great service of Explorer Adventure, and as per your international flight then transfer to Kathmandu international airport for homeward bound or to your respective destinations.

                                        Insurance policy for Medical and Travel:

                                        Should cover medical insurance for illness and emergency evacuation by Helicopter or other means of transportations including other expenses on treatment at respective countries hospitals, as for travel insurance against bad unfavorable weather conditions, delay or cancellation of domestic flights on mountainous area where flight involves on the start of trek and at the end.

                                        Travel and Medical Insurance also needs to cover when clients break the journey in the middle of the trip, due to sickness-personal domestic problem etc………

                                        Guide and Porters for 19 Days Annapurna Tilicho Lake Trekking: 

                                        On treks or climb where you will be accompanied by our expert guide who knows the area on route of the trek chosen, we have professional and veteran guides to led the trek where you can feel comfortable, as our guide are knowledgeable offers you various information of the country from history-geography, culture to flora and fauna.

                                        All guides have gone through basic medical training that includes high altitude symptoms or AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness) can help you with simple medical First Aid and for severe condition will support taking you to safe area or to nearest hospitals by any means of quick transportation.

                                        Our guides are well versed in Eco-Trekking and Responsible Tourism as well and are committed in keeping the environment on trekking route in pristine form as it was.

                                        Porters are picked can be regular porter of the company of hired in Kathmandu-Pokhara or in Lukla on start of the trekking, with always a strong and cheerful porters to carry your heavier luggage, baggage of 15 to 25 kg maximum weights to carry by each porters, we do not allow underage porters of below 16 years of age or above 50 years.

                                        Porters and guide are well looked after by the company with good wages, medical insurance, travel allowance including meals on treks and climb company also provides warm gear in winter as well for high and cold altitude trips.

                                        Information of AMS and Precaution Measures:

                                        High Altitude or Acute Mountain Sickness for short as AMS a symptom faced and can catch any people on high altitude adventure walks.

                                        Due to high pressure and low oxygen level as certain height where some people feel uneasiness with shortness of breathiness, light headache, nausea, dizziness, lack of good sleep and with less appetite.

                                        To avoid these whole symptoms where we always designed itinerary days accordingly with enough space, flexible days for acclimatization at high elevation, taking short walks up and sleeping and resting at low places.

                                        The other good way to avoid AMS taking slow and steady pace on walks, stopping frequently to catch your breath and adding lot of fluid or safe drinking water at least 2-3 liters a day to support against AMS.

                                        On high altitude take enough rest and with short slow hike above high hills to catch views as well to support acclimatization and sleeping and resting at low altitude will certainly helps you in avoiding AMS.

                                        Useful in situations when you cannot make high ascent, the best ways to prevent altitude sickness doing it slowly, stopping for overnights at certain altitude to adjust to the new height, and taking it easy for first one or two 2 days.

                                        In our list we always mention general medication to bring from home as well from your doctor advice also, your doctor might recommend you some basic medication list like medicine against diarrhea, headache, fever, cold-flu as well constipation including first aid for cuts-wounds and burns as well.

                                        What to Bring During 19 Days Annapurna Tilicho Lake Trekking?

                                        • Due to the rough road and mountainous terrains using a four-wheel drives like jeep. As well a land cruiser or similar types of vehicle for the drive to the starting point of trekking. At the end of trekking at Jomsom taking a short flight to Pokhara and taking a tourist bus or private vehicles to reach Kathmandu,

                                          Interested people have the options of flying to Kathmandu from Pokhara as per the trip, at extra expenses, if it is not included on the trip cost.

                                        • On the average about 5-6 hours, sometimes even less of 3-4 hours from Pisang to Manang, and to Khangsar. As well from Tilicho Base Camp to Tilicho Lake of few hours, but on the way back takes more than 4-5 hours. The longest hours of walking distance is trekking uphill to Thorang-La Pass and then downhill to Muktinath. Taking more than 6 to 7 hours with climb and long descent.

                                        • Acclimatization procedure happens staying overnights at certain heights like Chame, Pisang and at Manang main village. At Manang having fee day for acclimatization before heading toward higher elevation to Tilicho Lake and Thorang-La Pass. As well the daily walks will support acclimatization and having enough rest avoiding short breathing. Including drinking enough fluid and water, eating and sleeping well are the precaution against High altitude Sickness.

                                        • The temperatures varies from one place to another as per climate and weather conditions. However, above 2,000 m and 3,000 m the temperatures might reach minimum of below 0 degrees Celsius.

                                          As well in shades away from sunlight and in the night time also, day time temperatures according to season wise. But on average in all seasons of time except summer / monsoon, the day time temperatures may reach from 15 to 20 degrees Celsius. The wind chill factor adds extra cold temperatures, in the morning or during afternoon time.
