Around Manaslu Trek

Round Manaslu trekking is superb trekking route in the Manaslu region. It offers the ideal mountain views, adventure experiences, biological and cultural diversities. Opened in 1992 for the trekking for foreigners, Manaslu trek is opened as the restricted area trek. It is a round trip to the base of Mt. Manaslu, which is the 8th highest peak in the world. It goes through the borderline of Nepal and Tibet.

Mt. Manaslu is regarded as the spirit of the mountain and it is taken as the deity mountains. It is less explored regions and there are many villages that are unknown to the outer world. Around Manaslu trek is the demanding trip, which links different trekking regions and the altitude formation. The range of unique flora and fauna has made the Maanaslu trekking route colourful. The views of Mt. Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Lamjung Himal and glaciers are dazzling which attracts the treks in the trekking. Ethnic groups, culture, daily lifestyles and rituals are awesome and interesting. The trek begins from Sotikhola and heads along the Budi Gandaki River, sub-tropical forest and rugged landscape. Although the trail seems to be pretty easy, it is always adventurous. The local people are Tibetan Buddhist influenced and are rich in cultural heritages. Larke Pass of Manaslu treks is the main place from where the trekking descends to the trail of Annapurna Circuit Trekking. From Syange, you can drive directly to Kathmandu or Pokhara.

Day to Day Itinerary

Day 01 :Arrival Kathmandu (1350m).

Day 02 :Sightseeing of Kathmandu City.

Day 03 :Drive from Kathmandu to Sotikhola (710m). 8-9 hours.

Day 04 :Soti Khola to Maccha Khola (900m). 6-7 hours.

Day 05 :Maccha Khola to Jagat (1410m). 6-7 hours.

Day 06 :Jagat to Deng (1804m). 6-7 hours.

Day 07 :Deng to Namrung (2630m). 6-7 hours.

Day 08 :Namrung to Samagaon (3530m). 6-7 hours.

Day 09 :Rest Day.

Day 10 :Samagaon to Samdo (3860m). 4-5 hours.

Day 11 :Samdo to Dharamsala/Larkya B. C. (4460m). 4-5 hours.

Day 12 :Dharamsala to Larkya La (5160m) to Bimthang (3720m). 8-9 hours.

Day 13 :Bimthang to Tilije (2300m). 5-6 hours.

Day 14 :Tilije to Tal (1700m). 5-6 hours.

Day 15 :Tal to Syange (1080m). 6-7 hours.

Day 16 :Drive to Kathmandu. 8-9 hours.

Day 17 :Final Departure.

Day 01 :Arrival Kathmandu (1350m).Namaste and welcome to Nepal. The Explorer Adventure Company representative welcomes you warmly in the Tribhuwan International Airport and transfer to the hotel. You take rest and enjoy the welcome dinner with us in the evening. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 02 :Sightseeing of Kathmandu City. After breakfast, you set out for the sightseeing trip in the Kathmandu valley. Our expert tour guide shows you the UNESCO world heritage sites, which include Pashupatinath, Boudhanath, Swayambhunath, Patan and Bhaktapur Durbar Square. Then, return back to the hotel. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 03 :Drive from Kathmandu to Sotikhola (710m). 8-9 hours. From Kathmandu, we drive to Sotikhola, the gateway of out Manaslu trekking. The countryside rustic scenarios make the trip awesome. Although it is a long drive, the changing views of the beautiful landscape refreshes us. First, we reach Aarughat and drive further to our today’s destination Sotikhola. Overnight at Lodge.

Day 04 :Soti Khola to Maccha Khola (900m). 6-7 hours. After crossing the suspension bridge, we walk through the sub-tropical forest and heads through the ridge of the Budi Gandaki River. The trail is rocky with the breathtaking waterfalls on the way. The terraced rice fields and small villages as Khursane and Lapubesi are amazing. It is a frequent ascend and descend to the River and to the hillside. At the crossing the bridge, we reach to Machha Khola. Overnight at Lodge.

Day 05 :Maccha Khola to Jagat (1410m). 6-7 hours. Walking through the narrow trail is a bit adventurous and we cross the Khorlabesi. We reach the natural hot spring called Tatopani after a gradual walk. Then we cross the suspension bridge and walk through another ridge of the hill to each Dovan. Once we descend to the River bank, then we climb up on the steep stone steps. The west of the River and gradual climb leads us to the Jagat village. Overnight at Lodge.

Day 06 :Jagat to Deng (1804m). 6-7 hours. After breakfast, we start our trek through the rocky landscape and climb down to Sridibas. Then we walk on a good trail and continue through the widened trail and cross the Ghatta Khola. A little further, we cross another bridge and reach to the famous Gurung village, named Philim. Our trek moves further through Eklai Bhatti and the trail goes through the isolated part and forest region. Crossing the stream, we reach to Deng. Overnight at Lodge.

Day 07 :Deng to Namrung (2630m). 6-7 hours. Again, we cross the Budhi Gandaki River, we climb to the next edge of the cliff trail to Rana and Bhi after crossing the bridge. The trail through the forest and waterfall is just awesome. We can get the mesmerizing scenarios from the way to Prok village and enjoy the Shringi Himal ranges. The Buddhist Gompas and Mani walls are also the key attraction of today’s hiking. Continually we reach to Namrung and take a rest. Overnight at Lodge.

Day 08 :Namrung to Samagaon (3530m). 6-7 hours. The panoramic views of the Ganesh and Shringi Himal from Namrung village are superb. After breakfast, we climb up through the forest trail enjoy the beautiful villages as Lho and Shyala. The attraction of Peak 29, Himal Chuli along the beautiful Ribung Gompa on the way make the trek wonderful today. We take a rest today at Sama Gaon, which is the significant place of this trekking. Overnight at Lodge.

Day 09 :Rest Day. One of the huge day of our trekking is on the Sama Gaon. It has preserved the Tibetan Buddhist cultural heritages as Monastery, Chhortens and Mani Walls. The oldest Pungyen monastery and the mystical pattern of the local people has got wonderful combination. The life of traditional ethnic groups is wonderful to explore. The tour around Sama Gaon takes a long time, which also helps for an acclimatization. Overnight at Lodge.

Day 10 :Samagaon to Samdo (3860m). 4-5 hours. The journey begins with a delicious breakfast and again we descend to the bank of the Budhi Gandaki River. We head through the left ridge and ascend into the alpine forest. Now we can see many Kharka (alpine meadows) as the altitude is getting higher and higher. Crossing the wooden bridge again continues when we climb down the River and gradually we reach to the Samdo village. Overnight at Lodge.

Day 11 :Samdo to Dharamsala/Larkya B. C. (4460m). 4-5 hours. From Samdo, we trek down to the River, cross the bridge and hike upwards. The view of Larke glacier stimulates the trekkers to walk forward. Dharmashala is a stone guest house, which is a shelter for the travellers before the habitations were increased. Today, either we stay near the Dharmasala or hike up to the Larke Base Camp. After reaching, we walk around for acclimatization. Overnight at Lodge.

Day 12 :Dharamsala to Larkya La (5160m) to Bimthang (3720m). 8-9 hours. The most important day of our trekking and a challenging trip is today. Early in the morning, we begin our trek with the views of Himalayan peak and when we reach to the Larke top, we can explore the views of Mt. Manaslu (8156m), Annapurna (8091m) Himlung and other peaks. It is again tough to climb down from the Larke Pass to the Bimthang village. The awesome experience of crossing the challenging pass and getting Himalayan wonders is incredible. Overnight at Lodge.

Day 13 :Bimthang to Tilije (2300m). 5-6 hours. As we have done the thrilling Himalaya crossing, we have an easy to descend towards the Tilije. During the trek, we can see the panoramas of Manaslu, Lamjung, Himlung and other Himalayan peaks. We climb down through the forest, meadows and crossing the stream. After a gradual hike, we reach the Gho village and continue to the Tilije village and take a rest there. Overnight at Lodge.

Day 14 :Tilije to Tal (1700m). 5-6 hours. We are getting down and down from the high altitude. We are connecting the trail of the Annapurna Circuit trekking from Dharapani. The trekkers who want to join the trek with Thorong pass route head through the trail to Manang. But we descend to Thonje and cross the checkpoint at Dharapani. Now, we follow the bank of the Marshyangdi River and reach the Tal Village. Overnight at Lodge.

Day 15 :Tal to Syange (1080m). 6-7 hours. The last day of walking, we hike to the Chamje village after crossing the bridge over Marshyangdi River. It is a great view of the rice fields and rhododendron forest, which gradually leads us to the Syange. Overnight at Lodge.

Day 16 :Drive to Kathmandu. 8-9 hours. After breakfast in the morning, you drive to Besisahar by local jeep or local bus and you will change the bus at Besisahar and drive further to Kathmandu. It is again about 6 hours drive on the highway. You arrive Kathmandu and transferred to hotel. Enjoy the evening with the farewell dinner with us. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 17 :Final Departure. The last day of the trip, the representative of the Explorer Adventure Company drops you to the airport. Thank you for joining us for your memorable trip. See you again.
