Annapurna Base Camp Trekking

Annapurna Base Camp Trek is a journey to the mountainous area in the Annapurna Conservation Area of Nepal. Annapurna (8091m) is the 10th highest mountain in the world. The trek to Annapurna Base Camp is one of the popular trekking packages in Nepal. It is an adventurous journey to the base of Mt. Annapurna at 4130 meters above from the sea level.

Annapurna Base Camp Treks are rewarded by the breathtaking Himalayan panoramas of the Annapurna region, including Mt. Annapurna I-V, Dhaulagiri, Fishtail, Lamjung Himal and the surrounding range of the snow covered peaks. During the trek, you head through the ethnic Gurung and Magar communities, see their culture and experience, enjoy the natural hot spring and reach the Annapurna Base Camp. It is in the form of a bowl, encircled by the towering peaks. The forests of rhododendron, pine, bamboo and oak trees make the journey more colourful and interesting. Also the fauna are found diverse in this conservation area. The traditional style of spending life in the villages are interesting to see. The costumes, rituals and celebrations offer you the different and unique pleasure. Poon Hill is located at 3210 meters and it is the best viewpoint of the Annapurna Himalayas. The trip begins from Nayapul and heads through the Ghorepani, Chhomrong and Machhrepuchhre Base Camp.

Day to Day Itinerary

Day 01 :Arrive in Kathmandu.

Day 02 :Sightseeing of Kathmandu City.

Day 03 :Drive to Pokhara (820m). 6-7 hours.

Day 04 :Drive from Pokhara to Nayapul and trek to Hile (1430). 1 hrs drive, 3 hrs trek.

Day 05 :Hile to Ghorepani (2840m). 5-6 hours.

Day 06 :Sunrise hike to Poon Hill (3210m), and trek to Tadapani (2700m). 5-6 hrs.

Day 07 :Tadapani to Chhomrong (2170m). 4-5 hours.

Day 08 :Chhomrong to Bamboo (2310m). 4-5 hours

Day 09 :Bamboo to Deurali (3230m). 3-4 hours.

Day 10 :Deurali to Annapurna Base Camp (4130m). 5-6 hrs.

Day 11 :Trek down to Bamboo.

Day 12 :Bamboo to Jhinu Danda (1760m).

Day 13 :Trek to Naya Pul and drive to Pokhara.

Day 14 :Drive back to Kathmandu. 6-7 hours

Day 15 :Final departure.

Day 01 :Arrive in Kathmandu.Namaste and welcome to Nepal. The Explorer Adventure Company representative welcomes you warmly in the Tribhuwan International Airport and transfer to the hotel. You take rest and enjoy the welcome dinner with us in the evening. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 02 :Sightseeing of Kathmandu City.After breakfast, you set out for the sightseeing trip in the Kathmandu valley. Our expert tour guide shows you the UNESCO world heritage sites, which include Pashupatinath, Boudhanath, Swayambhunath, Patan and Bhaktapur Durbar Square. Then, return back to the hotel. Day 03 :Drive to Pokhara (820m). 6-7 hours.It is a 45 minute fly or 6-7 hours drive to Pokhara from the highway. The scenarios of the River, jungle, rice fields, villages and others are superb. After reaching Pokhara, we have time to go walking around and boating. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 04 :Drive from Pokhara to Nayapul and trek to Hile (1430). 1 hrs drive, 3 hrs trek.After breakfast, we drive to Nayapul. The trekking begins from here with the entry checkpoint of ACAP. We continue to trek further with the wonderful sound of the Bhurungdi Khola. We reach to Hile and stay there. Overnight at Lodge.

Day 05 :Hile to Ghorepani (2840m). 5-6 hours.Ghorepani is our today’s destination. After breakfast, we start to walk via Tikhedhunga and the steep climb of Ulleri. The views of the local villages and stream are wonderful. We can see the Himalayan views for the first time of the trekking from the step of stone to Ulleri. We have lunch at Ban Thanti and trek continues to Ghorepani through the rhododendron forest. It is a Magar ethnic village, located in the rhododendron forest. It is one of the popular places in this region. Overnight at Lodge.

Day 06 :Sunrise hike to Poon Hill (3210m), and trek to Tadapani (2700m). 5-6 hrs.Early in the morning, we hike from Ghorepani to Poon Hill for 45 minutes. The fabulous views of Mt. Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, Fishtail and spectacular sunrise over them are outstanding. The view tower of Poon Hill has been named with the memorial of Tek Bahadur Pun, who was a major of Army. Then we return back and have a breakfast at the tea house. Again we begin to walk climbing up through the rhododendron forest to Deurali enjoying the panoramic views of the Annapurna range. Then we descend and walk through Banthanti, where we have a lunch. Gradually, we climb up to the Tadapani Village. Overnight at Lodge.

Day 07 :Tadapani to Chhomrong (2170m). 4-5 hours. This morning, we split from the trail to Ghorepani and climb down through the steep trail and forest. The views of different waterfalls are magnificent and gradually we reach to the suspension bridge and cross the stream. Chhomrong is our today’s destination and we reach after a continual ascent through the stony trail. Overnight at Lodge.

Day 08 :Chhomrong to Bamboo (2310m). 4-5 hoursAfter breakfast, we climb down through the long stony steps to the Chhomrong stream and cross the bridge. Then we climb up to Sinuwa and head further through the forest. The views include the wilderness of various trees and it is just awesome to walk with the chirping sound of birds to Bamboo. Overnight at Lodge.

Day 09 :Bamboo to Deurali (3230m). 3-4 hours. We walk through the bamboo forest from the very beginning and climb up. We walk through the forest until we reach the Himalaya Hotel and we walk on the easy trail with the sound of the glacial river and walk steadily along the forest and we reach the Hinku Cave. With the beautiful views of the surrounding landscape, we reach to Deurali. Overnight at Lodge.

Day 10 :Deurali to Annapurna Base Camp (4130m). 5-6 hrs.We walk through the moderate trail. We continue to walk through the steep trail, sometimes on the river bank and hike up to the MBC (Machhapuchhre Base Camp). The Himalayan wonders of Mt. Annapurna, Annapurna I, III, Himchuli and other peaks are mind blowing. Now the alpine vegetation prevails on the way and the alpine rocky landscape. Annapurna Base Camp lies near and it is in the shape of open amphitheatre. It is also known as the Annapurna Sanctuary. We can enjoy the sunset views over the Annapurna massifs. Overnight at Lodge.

Day 11 :Trek down to Bamboo.The spectacular view of the sunrise on the white peaks consistently turns into the golden form. In the spring there is a heap of snowfall and the whole area becomes white. With a warm breakfast, we start to trek down to Bamboo through en route. It is easy to descend than climbing up but we should not forget the steep steps. We reach to Bamboo and take a rest. Overnight at Lodge.

Day 12 :Bamboo to Jhinu Danda (1760m).After breakfast, we follow the same route to trek down. After crossing Kuldighar, we hike forward to the downstream of Chhomrong and it is stone steps ascend to Chhomrng. We trek down to Jhinu, which is our today’s destination with the special reward of natural hot spring in a short walking distance from Jhinu (about 20 min walk down to the stream). Overnight at Lodge.

Day 13 :Trek to Naya Pul and drive to Pokhara.After having breakfast at the lodge, we start to trek down with the nice views of the green forest and rice fields. After a gradual hike down to Nayapul, check out from ACAP counter and drive further to Pokhara. The trek is over and in Pokhara, we can enjoy the evening walk around the Lakeside area. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 14 :Drive back to Kathmandu. 6-7 hoursAfter breakfast in the morning, you drive to the tourist bus park and drive further to Kathmandu. It is again about 6 hours drive on the highway. Or if you fly, it is about 45 minutes to fly. You arrive Kathmandu and transferred to hotel. Enjoy the farewell dinner with us in the evening Overnight at Hotel.

Day 15 :Final departure.The last day of the trip, the representative of the Explorer Adventure Company drops you to the airport. Thank you for joining us for your memorable trip. See you again.
