Annapurna Mini Circuit Trek

Annapurna Mini Circuit Trek is a popular classic foothill journey that crosses the highest Himalayan pass, known as the Thorong Pass (5416m). The surrounding splendid Annapurna Himalayas and its combination with the culturally prosperous ethnic settlements. The diverse terrain of Mustang regions landscape beyond the Himalayas resembles the Tibetan land. It is a short trip of the Annapurna circuit that flies from Jomsom, instead of trekking through the Kali Gandaki gorge to reach the Poon Hill route.

The perfect trek for the trekkers who have less time, Annapurna Mini Circuit captures the stunning Annapurna regions scenarios and breathtaking panoramas. The road expansion has made the trip in Annapurna mini circuit shorter. It combines the lower part of the region is covered by mixed villages and sub-tropical forests. The village of Manang and others represents the Tibetan Buddhist community and the wonders of nature are spectacular. The desert landscape of the religious area of Muktinath includes the rich spiritual beliefs. Descending to the centre of the Mustang region, Jomsom, the trip ends and fly to Pokhara.

It is a difficult trip to cross the Thorong Pass. The wonders of the Annapurna, Manaslu, Dhaulagiri and other Himalayan peaks are awesome. Day to Day Itinerary

Day 01 :Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to the hotel.

Day 02 :Sightseeing of Kathmandu City.

Day 03 :Drive from Kathmandu to Chamje (1430m). 6-7 hours.

Day 04 :Chamje to Dharapani (1860m). 5-6 hours.

Day 05 :Dharapani to Chame (2670m). 5-6 hours.

Day 06 :Chame to Pisang (3200m). 5-6 hours

Day 07 :Pisang to Manang (3540m). 5-6 hours.

Day 08 :Rest in Manang.

Day 09 :Manang to Yak Kharka (4050m). 4-5 hours.

Day 10 :Yak Kharka to Thorong Phedi (4450m). 5-6 hours.

Day 11 :Thorong Phedi-Thorong La pass (5416 m) – Muktinath (3760m). 9-10 hours.

Day 12 :Muktinath to Jomsom.

Day 13 :Fly to Pokhara.

Day 14 :Drive back to Kathmandu.

Day 15 :Final departure.

Day 01 :Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to the hotel. Namaste and welcome to Nepal. The Explorer Adventure Company representative welcomes you warmly in the Tribhuwan International Airport and transfer to the hotel. You take rest and enjoy your meal in the evening. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 02 :Sightseeing of Kathmandu City. After breakfast, you set out for the sightseeing trip in the Kathmandu valley. Our expert tour guide shows you the UNESCO world heritage sites, which include Pashupatinath, Boudhanath, Swayambhunath, Patan and Bhaktapur Durbar Square. Then, return back to the hotel. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 03 :Drive from Kathmandu to Chamje (1430m). 6-7 hours.We drive to Chamje from Kathmandu after breakfast for 7-8 hours. Up to Besisahar, the road is pitched and smooth drive. From Besisahar, the road is bumpy through the Marshyangdi River valley. So, it can take a bit more time than expected. Then we reach to Chamje, which is located beside the River, just near the cascading waterfall. Overnight at lodge.

Day 04 :Chamje to Dharapani (1860m). 5-6 hours.Today, we start our trek by crossing a bridge. Avoiding the motor road, we follow the old trail, which is not disturbing, rather it is wonderful walk. The trail is undulating. Walking about three hours, we reach to the ridgeline and we enter into the Manang district. We reach Tal (which was once a Lake and later the settlement established). The open area begins. Tal is our lunch point today. We continually follow the Marshyangdi River valley, after half an hour, we cross the suspension bridge and walk through the road. Again we cross the bridge and follow the old track. Finally, we cross the last bridge and reach to Dharapani. Overnight at lodge.

Day 05 :Dharapani to Chame (2670m). 5-6 hours.After breakfast, we check in to the ACAP checkpoint and walk through the fine trail. The views of Larke pass of the Manaslu region on the right. We head gradually, consisting road and off-road, through the beautiful pine forest. After an hour, we reach to Bgarchhap. The first view of Annapurna II and Timam range can be seen. Bagarchhap was a large village, which was washed away in 1995 by a landslide. Later, it was rebuilt and now there are few tea houses. Then we walk through the Danaque, cross the bridge and walk up hill to Timang. Have a lunch with beautiful mountain views including Manaslu range. Then we walk gradually through the pine forest, pass Koto and reach to Chame. It is a district headquarter of Manang. Overnight at lodge.

Day 06 :Chame to Pisang (3200m). 5-6 hoursIn the morning, we can see beautiful Himalayan sceneries of Annapurna II and Lamjung Himal. It is one of the most beautiful walking day regarding the wonderful views of Himalayas and the local surroundings. First we follow the road then off-road that goes through the beautiful pine forest. We get to Bhartang, which has got a huge iconic apple farm in the village. Have a tea and walk continually to the River, cross the bridge and reach to Dhukur Pokharai with a gradual climb up. We see the Paudi hill, which walls the Pisang village. It is known as the great wall of Pisang. We stay at Upper Pisang, which is a gateway of the Pisang peak climbing trail. Overnight at lodge.

Day 07 :Pisang to Manang (3540m). 5-6 hours. It is going to be a long walk today. In the morning, we begin to walk through the fabulous trail that offers Annapurna panoramas: Annapurna II, III, IV, Manaslu, Pisang peak and the surrounding peaks. The trail is almost labeled for an hour through the highway route. Then we climb up steeply to Ghyaru, which is about an hour. The route is undulating. The sceneries of the picturesque valleys and mountains are amazing. We reach to Ngwal (here, we meet the trekkers who come from the Nar Phu Valley) and have a lunch. Then we follow the road, pass Mugje, Bhraka and reach to the Manang village. It is one of the stunning Tibetan Buddhist settlements in the Annapurna region. Overnight at lodge.

Day 08 :Rest in Manang. Today is our wonderful day., we take rest for acclimatization and explore around the Manang village. Generally, we walk to the monastery (Interestingly, the Lama is also known as 100 rupees Lama. He is more than 95 years old. He offers tea and blessing to cross the technical Thorong pass. Visitors pay 100 rupees). Another option is to hike to the Gangapurna Lake and explore the sceneries. Then back to lodge, have a lunch and go to the lecture of western volunteers about Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS). Overnight at lodge.

Day 09 :Manang to Yak Kharka (4050m). 4-5 hours.Today, we walk half day. After breakfast, we ascend through the Tangki Manang by crossing the stream. Thorung Khola flows down on our route and the frequent meeting Chhortens make the trek more charming. The elevation is getting higher which makes our walk difficult. The cattle grazing meadows and Juniper forest are wonderful. We cross the small bridge over the Ghyanchang Khola and ascend continually to Yak Kharka, where we reach at the lunch time. Overnight at Lodge.

Day 10 :Yak Kharka to Thorong Phedi (4450m). 5-6 hours.Thorung Phedi is located at 4450 meters elevation and an important place to the trekkers on the Annapurna Circuit route. From Yak Kharka, we walk for half day through the gentle trail. Crossing the stream, we reach to a tea shop. Then we walk through the landslide area, where we should be aware and walk very carefully. Gradually, we reach to Thorong Phedi at lunch time. Overnight at lodge.

Day 11 :Thorong Phedi-Thorong La pass (5416 m) – Muktinath (3760m). 9-10 hours.The huge day (hardest and longest day) during the Annapurna Circuit trekking is today. We start to trek in the early morning and ascend to the Thorung Pass. First we climb to the high camp through the steep route, incuding some zig zag section. Then the trail is wide and relatively easy. However, due to the altitude, the walk becomes slow. We reach to a tea shop and follow the gentle steep route to the Thorong La top (5416m, 4 hrs), it is the section where you will see the fluttering Buddhist prayer flag. The mountain views can be seen excellent: Annapurna panorama, Dhaulagiri and the Kali Gandaki valley with a desert line. Then we descend all the way to Muktinath through the technical trail (appx. 4 hrs). Muktinath is a religiously significant place for Hindu and Buddhist devotees. There are 108 water sprouts near the Hindu temple, and a burning fire lamp inside the Buddhist monastery. Overnight at lodge.

Day 12 :Muktinath to Jomsom.The sacred place of Muktinath is a famous place for pilgrimage. It is equally important place for the Buddhist devotees. The surrounding of Muktinath is Himalayas and the barren landscape. After worshipping in the Muktinath temple, we trek down to Jomsom, the headquarter of the Mustang region. We stay here and wait for the flight tomorrow. Overnight at Lodge.

Day 13 :Fly to Pokhara.It is a short and a wonderful flight from Jomsom to Pokhara. The views of Annapurna, Fishtail, Nilgiri, Dhaulagiri and other peaks are just awesome. The short flight takes us to the city of Lakes-Pokhara. We have the whole day for sightseeing and boating in Phewa Lake. We can visit Mahendra cave, Davis Falls, Seti River gorge and others. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 14 :Drive back to Kathmandu.After breakfast in the morning, we drive to the tourist bus park and drive further to Kathmandu. It is again about 6 hours drive on the highway. You arrive Kathmandu and transferred to hotel. Enjoy the evening with your friends and staffs of the Explorer Adventure Company. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 15 :Final departure. The last day of the trip, the representative of the Explorer Adventure Company drops you to the airport. Thank you for joining us for your memorable trip. See you again.
