Jiri to Everest base camp Trek is the classical trip in the Everest region, which gradually leads you to the Everest base camp through the splendid ascending and descending. The trip offers an opportunity to see the sights of the striking landscape around the Everest region, eye-catching views of the Himalayas, alpine woodland and the nearby panoramas.It is wonderful to trek through the historical route, that was used by the first Everest expedition team.

The Jiri to Everest Base Camp trek starts from Jiri or it also starts from Bhandar due to road expansion, which is a long drive to the east of Kathmandu. The trail is rugged and includes various scenarios of the green hills, streams and the rare seeing animals. The views of the local villages and the farmlands are beautiful. The Sherpa people and their traditional lifestyles are great to explore. You can be familiar with the typical Sherpa culture and spiritual outlooks. The upper parts of this trekking are Namche Bazaar, Phakding, Tengbuche and Gorakshep. From there, you hike to Everest Base Camp and Kalapatthar. The views of Everest, Ama Dablam, Lhotse and other peaks are stunning.

Day to Day Itinerary

Day 01 :Arrival Kathmandu. (1300m).

Day 02 : Sightseeing of Kathmandu City.

Day 03 : Drive Kathmandu to Jiri and continue to Bhandar. 6-7 hrs drive.

Day 04 : Trek from Bhandar to Sete (2575m). 5 - 6 hours.

Day 05 :Sete to Junbesi (2670m). 5 - 6 hours.

Day 06 :Junbesi to Nunthala (2220m). 5 - 6 hours.

Day 07 : Nunthala to Bupsa (2360m). 5 - 6 hours.

Day 08 : Bupsa to Surke (2290m). 5 - 6 hours.

Day 09 : Surke to Phakding (2652m). 5 - 6 hours.

Day 10 :Phakding to Namche Bazaar. 5 - 6 hours.

Day 11 : Acclimatization day.

Day 12 :: Namche Bazaar to Tengbuche (3870m). 5 - 6 hours.

Day 13 :: Tengboche to Dingbuche (4350m). 5 - 6 hours.

Day 14 : Dingboche to Lobuche (4950m). 4-5 hours.

Day 15 : Lobuche to Gorakshep and hike to Everest Base Camp. 8-9 hours

Day 16 : Hike to Kalapatthar and trek down to Pheriche. 6-7 hours.

Day 17 :Day 17: Pheriche to Namche Bazaar. 5 - 6 hours.

Day 18 : Namche Bazaar to Lukla. 5 - 6 hours.

Day 19 : Fly back to Kathmandu.

Day 20 :Final departure.

Day 01 :Arrival Kathmandu. (1300m). Namaste and welcome to Nepal. The Explorer Adventure Company representative welcomes you warmly in the Tribhuwan International Airport and transfer to the hotel. You take rest and enjoy your meal in the evening. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 02 : Sightseeing of Kathmandu City.After breakfast, you set out for the sightseeing trip in the Kathmandu valley. Our expert tour guide shows you the UNESCO world heritage sites, which include Pashupatinath, Boudhanath, Swayambhunath, Patan and Bhaktapur Durbar Square. Then, return back to the hotel. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 03 : Drive Kathmandu to Jiri and continue to Bhandar. 6-7 hrs drive.We drive to Jiri from Kathmandu, which takes about 6-7 hours. It used to be the starting point of trekking in the past, but now it starts from Bhandar. We enjoy the views of Kosi River and the Himalayan views of Dorje Lhakpa, Langtang and others. Overnight at Lodge.

Day 04 : Trek from Bhandar to Sete (2575m). 5 - 6 hours.After breakfast, we start our trek through the forest and crossing streams. Surma Khola and the view of the Likhu Khola valley make the trip spectacular. We climb up to Chimbu and reach to Sete. Overnight at Lodge.

Day 05 :Sete to Junbesi (2670m). 5 - 6 hours.Climbing to the Lamjura Pass is awesome through the pine, maple and rhododendron forest. The view of Numbur Himal (also known as Dudh Kunda (Milky Lake). The scenarios of Dagchu and Goyem we reach to Tragdobuk. The gradual walk through the same trail takes us to Junbesi. Overnight at Lodge.

Day 06 :Junbesi to Nunthala (2220m). 5 - 6 hours.After crossing the stream, we ascend through the wild forest. We get the Himalayan sights of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Makalu and others. It is incredible to get the beautiful mountain views and the lower peaks. The Lukla valley can be seen from there. We descend to Ringmo Khola, cross the Takshindo Pass and finally we reach to Nunthala. Overnight at Lodge.

Day 07 : Nunthala to Bupsa (2360m). 5 - 6 hours.From Nunthala, we trek down to the Dudh Koshi River (Milky River) and ascend to. We cross the suspension bridge at Jubing and trek to Churk. Then the trail is mostly uphill. After the trek up to Kharikhola. Kharikhola is a densely populated village of the Magar ethnic group. Their cultural lifestyles are unique and have wonderful hospitality. we ascend up to Bupsa. Overnight at Lodge.

Day 08 : Bupsa to Surke (2290m). 5 - 6 hours.From Bupsa, we walk gradual uphill through the Oak forests and cross the Khari Pass. We continue on enjoying the surrounding views and gradually through the fine trail that leads us to Paiya. It is our lunch stop today. Then we walk to Chhyouvas and continually walk through the Oak forest. Then we walk all the way down to Surke. Overnight at Lodge.

Day 09 : Surke to Phakding (2652m). 5 - 6 hours.Surke is a base of Lukla (the gateway of Everest trekking, mostly for the trekkers who prefers to go by flight). It is now the gentle climb up by exploring the local surrounding of the Sherpa village, pass the yak grazing meadows and reach to Phakding. Overnight at Lodge.

Day 10 :Phakding to Namche Bazaar. 5 - 6 hours.Crossing the suspension bridge, we walk through Bankar enjoying the wonderful waterfall. After 5 min walk, we can see the fabulous mountain on the right. It is called Thamserku. Then we cross another bridge and walk through undulating trail to reach Manju. There is a checkpost of the Sagarmatha National Park. We begin to walk in the Khumbu valley. We have lunch at Jorsalle and walk gradual up and down. Today we cross 5 bridges in total. Then we follow the Riverbank. Crossing the last bridge, we climb up gradually to Namche Bazaar. Overnight at lodge.

Day 11 : Acclimatization day.After breakfast, we go to the viewpoint place, just behind the Sagarmatha National Park headquarter. The panoramic views of Everest Himalayan chain: Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku and many more. Then we walk down to the Sherpa cultural centre, where we can observe the gallery and documentary of sherpa’s ascending Mt. Everest. We hike up to the Everest View Hotel via Syangboche airport, have a cup of tea and return to Namche. Overnight at lodge.

Day 12 :: Namche Bazaar to Tengbuche (3870m). 5 - 6 hours.After breakfast, we walk up 30 minutes and the trail is flat and relatively easy. After one and half hour, we reach to Kyanjuma, have a tea break and enjoy the Himalayan views. On the way, the mountain goats can be seen. A continual walk through the rhododendron forest, we descend about 45 minutes to the bank of the River, called Phunki Tenga. It is our lunch stop today. then we climb up all the way to Tengbuche through the zig zag trail. Tengbuche is the right location to stay, which is surrounded by the white peaks, just below the Ama Dablam. Overnight at lodge. Note: The Tengbuche monastery is a spiritual centre of the Tibetan Buddhists. It opens everyday at 3 pm to 5 pm. Lamas and Monks perform their rituals. The monastery was destroyed by fire in 1989, which was rebuilt again. we visit the monastery today.

Day 13 :: Tengboche to Dingbuche (4350m). 5 - 6 hours. We begin the trek with a gradual down for half an hour through the rhododendron forest. We pass Dibuche, where we can see a nunnery. Our trek continues to the stream, cross the wooden bridge. We ascend about 30 min and reach to a gate and enter to the Pangbuche. We visit the oldest monastery of the Everest region. Heading forward, the trail is gentle and stop for lunch at Syomare. The trail is dotted by the treeline and all the way it is wide. Sometimes it becomes windy. After a couple of hours, we reach to Dingbuche. Overnight at lodge.

Day 14 : Dingboche to Lobuche (4950m). 4-5 hours. After breakfast, we head by making the destination of Lobuche. We climb up through the steep route. Reaching a Stupa, the trail is gradual. The spectacular views of Everest chain, including Makalu can be seen. Then we reach to Thukla in about 2-2.5 hours. We have an early lunch there and make a steep climb for an hour to the ridge. There is a memorial of the Everest climbers, who passed away during the expedition. The trail is almost labeled to Lobuche. Overnight at lodge.

Day 15 : Lobuche to Gorakshep and hike to Everest Base Camp. 8-9 hoursHeading through the rugged trail gives you the adventure experience. It goes by another side of the Khumbu glacier. After about an hour, then we walk steep up to get the top and continue through the rough rocky trail. We reach Gorakshep through the Italian Research Center and Lobuche Pass. After a rest, we hike further to the Everest Base Camp through the new moraine route. On the way, we can see Pumori, Nuptse and other mountains on the background. Everest view is available only before reaching to Everest Base Camp. It is not that much difficult to walk because of trail, but the higher altitude makes it tough. Then, we descend back to Gorakshep. Overnight at Lodge.

Day 16 : Hike to Kalapatthar and trek down to Pheriche. 6-7 hours.In the early morning, we hike to Kalapatthar, which is also a good viewpoint of the Everest range. The views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse face, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Taboche, Cholatse, Lobuche East and Pumori on the background, which is just behind the Kalapatthar. The golden mountains during the sunrise period are fabulous, including the top of the world. Then we descend to Gorakshep, have breakfast and trek down all the way to Pheriche. Overnight at Lodge.

Day 17 :Day 17: Pheriche to Namche Bazaar. 5 - 6 hours.After breakfast, we start to trek down to Namche Bazaar via Pangboche and Phunki Tenga. The views of the Himalayas and forest are wonderful. Overnight at Lodge.

Day 18 : Namche Bazaar to Lukla. 5 - 6 hours.. From Naamche bazaar, we continue to trek down to Lukla, the last trekking day of the trip. With the view of the waterfall and Sherpa villages, we cross the Phakding and reach to Lukla. Overnight at Lodge.

Day 19 : Fly back to Kathmandu.After finishing the trek, we fly back to Kathmandu from Lukla with the Everest scenarios. From the airport, we drive to the hotel and enjoy the whole day of shopping and rest. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 20 :Final departure.The last day of the trip, the representative of the Explorer Adventure Company drops you to the airport. Thank you for joining us for your memorable trip. See you again.
